CO-PRODUCTION MARKET FEATURE

The Co-Production Market (CPM) is a platform for curated projects with South Asian themes to find financial and artistic support in co-production. Every year, filmmakers with projects selected for the Co-Production Market get numerous avenues to connect with Indian and international producers, distributors, sales agents and financiers active in Co- Production. The model has been set up to bring together film professionals from across the globe to enhance opportunities for International Co-Productions.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Please read the Rules & Regulations and carefully before submitting your application. If you have queries, please read the FAQs.

Eligibility
  • Only films with South Asian themes are eligible. Else, the filmmaker or at least one of the Co-Producers of the film should be from India / South Asia.
  • Only fiction feature and animation projects with an anticipated duration of 60 minutes or more are eligible for the Co-Production Market – Feature category.
  • Project must have both director and producer attached.
  • The Co-Production Market is only eligible to projects having a producer attached and at least 25% of the financing in place.
  • Projects that have started principal photography are not eligible.
How to apply

The application process is completely online. Email/hardcopy applications will not be accepted.

  • The applicant must either be the producer or the director of the project. Applications made by any other persons will be disqualified.
  • To apply, you need to create a WavesFilmBazaar Account first, in case you do not already have one
  • Once you have created your account, you will be directed to the Co-Production Market online application form.
  • Applications will be considered complete only after payment of fee.

  • Synopsis - 300 words
  • Director’s Statement - 200 words
  • Producer’s Statement - 200 words
  • Director’s Bio - 150 words
  • Producer’s Bio - 150 words
  • Story Outline Max. - 12-15 pages
  • Production Plan - As per template provided
  • Tentative Timeline - As per your preferred format
  • Production Company Profile - As per your preferred format
  • Pitch Deck (optional) - As per your preferred format
Additional Submissions

Once the project is selected it is mandatory to submit a Video Pitch for presentation at the Open Pitch at the Waves Film Bazaar. (For more information please refer to FAQs.)

To ensure the participants’ video pitches meet our technical requirements, the team will need these tentatively 10-12 days prior to the Waves Film Bazaar. Participants will be provided with creative and technical support to create refined video pitches.

  • Early Bird Deadline for applications is 31st August, 2026 (11:59 pm IST).
  • Regular Deadline for applications is 15th September, 2026 (11:59 pm IST)
Fee
  • INR 10000 for applications submitted on or before the Early Bird Deadline, 31st August, 2026 (11:59 PM IST).
  • INR 12000 for applications submitted on or before the Regular Deadline, 15th September, 2026 (11:59 PM IST).
  • The application fee is a one-time, non-refundable fee.

BRIEF HISTORY

Since 2007, the Co-Production Market has consistently brought out notable projects. Filmmakers have applied year after year to connect with the international film producing and financing community at Film Bazaar. In 2010, the market was expanded to include projects from our South Asian neighbours — Nepal, Bhutan, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
